Man City predicted starting XI v Newcastle United: Six changes as Kevin de Bruyne call made

Manchester City predicted starting XI v Newcastle United: Six changes as Kevin de Bruyne call made.

Manchester City can move two points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool with a win against Newcastle United this evening (kick-off 5:30pm).

Last year's quadruple winners sit third in the table, five points away from Liverpool and two off second place Aston Villa, although the City have a game in hand on both sides.

A somewhat stuttering start to the campaign for Pep Guardiola's men looks to be behind them having secured five consecutive wins in all competitions, a run which includes league victories over Sheffield United and Everton.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are hoping last weekend's derby win at Sunderland can be used as a springboard for their season. Prior to the 3-0 win at the Stadium of Light, the Magpies had lost seven of their last eight matches, including exiting both the Champions League and Carabao Cup, as well as falling to ninth in the Premier League table.

Having lost to Liverpool last time out, the visit of Man City provides another ultimate test, despite the visitors being without top scorer Erling Haaland and defensive pair John Stones and Manuel Akanji.
