Man City v Newcastle United team news: Two ruled out & three doubtful - plus triple selection boost
Manchester City v Newcastle United team news ahead of the Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium.
Newcastle United will have Bruno Guimaraes available for this afternoon’s Premier League clash at Manchester City (kick-off 12:30pm).
The Brazilian twisted his ankle during last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final and was forced to be substituted in the 79th minute for Joe Willock.
But the midfielder is set to start at the Etihad following an update from head coach Eddie Howe.
“Yeah Bruno’s fine,” said Howe. “He was in a bit of short-term pain but nothing that has impacted his training.”
Newcastle will also be boosted by the return of Nick Pope and Anthony Gordon, while Man City could receive a few injury boosts of their own. Here’s a look at the outs & doubts:

2. Emil Krafth - out
Krafth is unlikely to play again this season after sustaining an ACL injury in August.

3. Aymeric Laporte - doubt
Laporte has missed the last three games against RB Leipzig Bournemouth and Bristol City due to illness.

4. John Stones - doubt
Stones picked up a hamstring injury during the FA Cup win over Arsenal a month ago.
