Manchester United are set to make a late decision on Anthony Martial ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final with Newcastle United.

The Frenchman, as expected, missed the Red Devils’ 2-1 Europa League win (4-3 on aggregate) over Spanish giants Barcelona last night because of a hip injury.

Erik ten Hag revealed before the game Martial had returned to individual training but is yet to link up with his teammates.

With just three days until the Wembley final, the 27-year-old is running out of time to be available for the Wembley showpiece.

Martial has struggled to remain fit throughout the 2022-23 campaign - missing 24 matches in total.

Meanwhile, ten Hag did welcome Antony and Harry Maguire back into his matchday squad for the visit of Barcelona.

Antony had missed the last four matches with a leg injury, while Maguire sat out of the Red Devils’ 3-0 win over Leicester City because of a slight knock.

Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek remain longer-term absences for Man United. Phil Jones, Brandon Williams and Brandon Willams were among the players not selected.
