Tottenham Hotspur 2-3 Newcastle United - January 14, 2007

A game best remembered for Obafemi Martins’ 30-yard rocket. Had the net not bulged, some believe his shot would still be rising now…

Jermain Defoe had given Tottenham the lead, with Dimitar Berbatov restoring the advantage after Paul Huntington equalised. Martins then smashed home his thunderbolt before Nicky Butt netted the winner two minutes later.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-4 Newcastle United - March 30, 2008

Aha, we warned you Keegan would return! This triumph at White Hart Lane was arguably the crowning moment of his second stint as manager.

One year on from the Martins bullet, Spurs took the lead again, this time through Darren Bent. However, an attack-minded Toon outfit equalised just before half-time, with Butt scoring, before Geremi, Michael Owen and Martins doing the damage.

Newcastle United 5-1 Tottenham Hotspur - May 15, 2016

What was supposed to be a day of humiliation - with Newcastle already relegated - turned into one filled with optimism and hope for the future. A 10-man Magpies side thrashed Tottenham, who surrendered second place to bitter rivals Arsenal.

Gini Wijnaldum x2, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Rolando Aarons and Daryl Janmaat all scored. St James’ Park had one message: “Rafa Benitez, we want you to stay” - which he duly did as Newcastle earned promotion the following season.

Newcastle United 6-1 Tottenham Hotspur - April 23, 2023

A result still fresh in the memory of most Newcastle fans. Tottenham were brave, having just sacked Antonio Conte.

They played a back four with Ivan Perisic and Pedro Porro - a move that rebounded massively. The Magpies were 5-0 after just 21 minutes, showcasing their most eye-catching result and well on course for a Champions League finish.
