Mehrdad Ghodoussi issues brilliant Newcastle United message ahead of Liverpool clash
Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has issued a message to supporters ahead of the New Year.
Ghodoussi reflected on a memorable 2023 for the Magpies, which saw the club reach their first Wembley final in 24 years and end their two-decade-long absence from the Champions League, where they recorded a memorable 4-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain at St James' Park in October.

He also looked ahead to 2024, which begins with an away trip to Liverpool on New Year's Day.
"As we bid farewell to 2023, a year marked by its unique blend of highs and lows, challenges and triumphs, let us take a moment to reflect and embrace the lessons learned," Ghodoussi posted on X.
"Here’s to 2024 – a year brimming with potential. Let’s make it a year of positive change, personal growth, and collective success.

A number of supporters replied to the post.
One fan said: "Happy New Year to you all, Mehrdad. Thank you for what you have done for our club", while another wrote: "Wishing you, Amanda, and everyone at the club a happy new year.
"2023 has definitely been a mixed bag, but most of the lows have only been caused by our exceptional achievements from the previous season. Rome wasn't built in a day as they say!"
