Mehrdad Ghodoussi’s sharp response to Wor Flags’ joke tweet as NUFC fan group hint at biggest display yet

It sounds like today could be the fan group’s biggest display yet.
Fans of Newcastle United display flags in support of Allan Saint-Maximin of Newcastle United prior to the Premier League match between Newcastle United and Crystal Palace at St. James Park on April 20, 2022 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Newcastle United take on Liverpool at St James’ Park today looking to make it seven home wins on the bounce - which would be the first time they’ve done anything like that since 2004.

And fan group Wor Flags look set to again pull out all the stops for the penultimate game on Tyneside of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

The group intend to fill all four sides of the ground with flags for the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s quadruple-chasing Reds to the North East with the huge fan-funded surfer set to cover the Leazes End, rather than it’s usual home in the Gallowgate.

And this time if you’re in Level 7, you’ll also get the chance to get your hands on a flag to participate in what looks set to be a real show for the TV cameras.

In recent weeks the Magpies’ owners have been getting involved in displays, with PIF chief Yasir Al-Rumayyan waving a black and white flag on his last visit to the home of the Magpies.

Mehrdad Ghodoussi has also been a regular ‘flag waver’ in Al-Rumayyan’s absence - and his recent Twitter exchange with Wor Flags suggests he’s as excited as everyone else about what they have in store for Liverpool this afternoon.
