Wolves were initially set to be without the midfielder for their Premier League clash against Newcastle United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will have Matheus Cunha available again for their Premier League meeting with Newcastle United tonight.

Cunha has missed the last two matches after he was handed a ban by the FA for his misconduct at the end of Wolves’ 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town at Molineux last month.

The 25-year-old was initially given a three-match suspension but - and this has amused some people - saw it reduced to two after he offered a ‘sincere’ apology and agreed to purchase a new pair of glasses for the Ipswich staff member he clashed with at full-time.

Cunha is Wolves top goalscorer this campaign with 10 goals, three more than striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Meanwhile, Wolves will also be boosted by Nelson Semedo and Craig Dawson’s involvement. Since succeeding Gary O’Neil as manager last month, Vitor Pereira has won two of his opening four Premier League games in charge.

“Nelson, Dawson and Cunha will be ready for the match, but they are coming from injury so we need to be careful about the minutes that they can play,” said the Portuguese boss. “But we need players, and players with this quality.

“The conversations that we have together are very comfortable. He's very happy in this game and in his role in the team. It means that if he's happy, I'm happy, if he plays at a high level, I'm happy for him.

“Since the beginning, I said that this is Wolves’ game, it’s not Vitor Pereira’s game, it’s something that they need to feel that this is the game that we want to play. This is the game that we work every day to build up to.”
