Newcastle United currently sit eighth in the Premier League table - but where are Eddie Howe's side predicted to finish come May?
After coming from 3-1 down to beat West Ham United 4-3 at St James’ Park on Saturday, the Magpies squandered the opportunity to claim back-to-back wins against Everton last night.
Alexander Isak handed United an early lead and had chances to extend it before Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised from the penalty spot in the 88th minute.
As a result, Eddie Howe’s side missed out on moving up to seventh in the Premier League table after West Ham were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
Newcastle have eight games to secure European qualification. Next up is a trip to Fulham, who United have already beaten twice this season in the league and FA Cup.
“We’re looking for Europe,” said Howe. “I’ve said that many times. We’re determined to try and get there, I know the squad are very motivated to try and finish the season well. We’ve got some big games to comes.”
