When all 30 Newcastle United contract expire as Eddie Howe faces imminent decision on £65m worth of talent

Eddie Howe faces key decisions on the future of a number of Newcastle stars

Newcastle United are believed to have as many as nine first team players out of contract next summer.

This gives Eddie Howe plenty to ponder in the coming weeks and months as he is forced to make major calls over the stars he sees as part of the club’s long-term future and those that he feels no longer make the grade.

Last summer, Howe waved goodbye to two long-term servants in Paul Dummett and Matt Ritchie, who formed part of the club’s 2017 Championship winning team under Rafa Benitez, along with more recent additions such as youngster Kell Watts, midfielder Jeff Hendrick and back up goalkeeper Loris Karius.

From January, a number of Newcastle’s current out-of-contract stars will be able to agree pre-contract deals with other clubs which will allow them to leave on a free transfer in the summer.

With that in mind we round-up each existing first team player's contract is due to expire as Howe faces pressing decisions over one of the club’s leading goalscorers of the Premier League era, an academy graduate, a former club captain and a host of other fan favourites.
