Newcastle United 70,000 new stadium concept images have already emerged ahead of St James' Park announcement

Newcastle United supporters are eagerly awaiting an official update on the club’s stadium plans.

The Magpies released a statement late last year stating an announcement would be made in “early 2025”. We’re now into June and that is still yet to arrive.

NewcastleWorld understands the club had planned to provide an update last month but such communication was put on hold. Why? Well, to be honest, we’re not entirely sure. However, there are new suggestions that an announcement is very close.

As per the Daily Telegraph’s Luke Edwards, a public announcement on the stadium is expected at the end of the month. While club chiefs have frequently insisted that a final decision has not yet been made, it is widely believed that a new stadium adjacent to St James’ Park will be built.

A 65,000 capacity had been discussed internally but the same publication above claims Newcastle’s Carabao Cup celebrations in March, where an estimated 300,000 people were in attendance, was part of the reason for a rethink, with a 70,000 capacity the new mooted figure.

Although no official stadium designs have been made public, stadium concept designer and 3D animator Damián Bosio has shared his ideas on what a proposed expansion of St James’ Park or new stadium could look like via his YouTube channel, Bondibot.
