Newcastle United are reportedly among the clubs keeping tabs on Swansea City midfielder Azeem Abdulai.
The 20-year-old made his senior debut in September when the Welsh outfit were beaten by Oxford United in the Carabao Cup on penalties.
That is Abdulai’s only senior appearance to date, but his performances for the Swans’ under-23s have supposedly attracted plenty of interest.
As per the Daily Mail, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen are monitoring his progress.
And perhaps it’s no wonder when Abdulai is drawing comparisons to Borussia Dortmund and England star Jude Bellingham because of his “stature, playing style and ability to dominate a midfield”.
Abdulai was born in Glasgow to a Sierra Leonean father and Scottish mother. He was called up by Scotland under-21s in March for games against Sweden and Wales in March.
Celtic first signed Abdulai to their academy before he joined Leicester City in 2019 after trials at Brentford and AFC Wimbledon. Two years later, Abdulai moved to Swans.
