The Liverpool John Moores University graduate has also performed similar roles at Fulham, Derby County and Blackburn Rovers, as well as working in Rugby with the Catalan Dragons, Toronto Wolfpack and Wasps.

United first advertised for a First Team Performance Nutritionist in April having previously enlisted the help of external consultants.

“We need to produce a higher level of everything right across the board for the players,” Howe said when about the vacancy.

“We need to give them every tool that they need to produce their best performances on a consistent basis so whatever area of the club that is, whether it is analysis, food or sleep, we need to try and educate the players as best we can. You will only do that with the best staff.

“I don’t quite know what areas we will be looking to improve our product in but, certainly, that quest will never cease for me. It’s always about trying to help the players in any way that we can.”

Among Kasper’s duties is to implement an individual diet and nutrition programme for players, undertaking regular body composition assessments and provide bespoke interventions to support performance, training, and rehab goals.
