Newcastle United have confirmed plans to introduce a new hospitality suite called ‘Wings’ at St James’ Park next month. Named in celebrations of the club’s former wingers - with Laurent Robert among those to feature on the wall - the lounge is scheduled to open for the clash against Brentford on Sunday, September 17.

New corporate seating was added to the Leazes End during the summer in preparation for the launch of Wings. It will replace the old Leazes Sports Bar after existing season tickets in that section were forced to relocate to other parts of the stadium.

Newcastle sent a letter to affected supporters. It read: We can announce that the Leazes Sports Bar will undergo a transformation this summer, with a new facility in its place offering a premium matchday experience.

“Unfortunately, this means your existing seat will need to be relocated for the 2023-24 season onwards, and we would like to speak with you to explore your options together.

“Your eligibility to renew your existing season tickets in a new location is not affected. Please note that your ticket price may be subject to change (an increase or decrease), dependent on the new location selected.”

For a premium price of £350 + VAT per-person per-match, attendees will enjoy features such as a modern-style bistro menu, bar, wine or soft drink on arrival and a post-match snack.

“Introducing Wings, the latest addition to Newcastle United’s hospitality offering!” Newcastle tweeted. “Paying homage to our greatest wingers of all time, Wings provides a unique and memorable matchday experience at St. James’ Park. Opening for the Brentford fixture on September 17th.

Wings is the second hospitality Newcastle have confirmed in as many days. ‘The Rooftops’ — situated in the Gallowgate South West Corner — made its grand opening for Saturday evening’s 5-1 win against Aston Villa.

For a premium price of £650 + VAT per-person per-match, supporters gain access to an all-inclusive bar and a variety of small plates serving seasonal food pre-match and post-match. The suite also hosts a live DJ and a pre and post-match analysis with a Newcastle United legend.
