The likes of Ukraine star Mykhalo Mudryk and Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley are said to be two players that have been watched over the last two weeks - but reports in Portugal have suggested United were represented at one key Primeira Liga clash over the weekend.

Portuguese outlet A Bola have reported Newcastle were represented in the stands as Porto eased to a 4-1 win against Sporting Braga on Friday night in a meeting of two sides sat in the top three.

Evanilson, Stephen Eustaquio, Galeno and Pepe all netted for Porto, with the latter of that trio scoring an own goal that was of little consolation for the visitors.

With representatives from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all reported to be watching on, the win kept Porto in second place in the table, three points behind rivals Benfica.

Newcastle have been linked with players on both sides in the recent past and speculation over a move for Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa continued after the Magpies secured a £10m deal for Burnley and England stopper Nick Pope.

Braga winger Ricardo Horta is also a reported target for United after scoring 98 goals in 298 appearances during a five-year stay at the Municipal Stadium.
