The improvements will give Newcastle a solid platform ahead of next season, and they can now look to improve their squad with their new-found wealth.

Howe will already have a good idea of where he needs to improve, and now it is about executing deals to ensure a solid pre-season, ideally with the new signings already in place.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours.

Henderson latest

Dean Henderson is still being heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park.

It was reported just over a week ago that a deal was close for the Manchester United goalkeeper, but Howe later denied the reports, claiming the club were not ‘close’ to landing anyone.

Since then, new reports have emerged, with the Chronicle claiming Henderson is keen to make a move to Newcastle and on a permanent deal.

It’s claimed sources close to the player believe a deal could be ‘close’, and it is no secret that Howe is looking for a new goalkeeper this summer.

Henderson could be a very good option, keen to leave Old Trafford amid limited playing time.

Sarr interest cools

The Magies have also been linked with Watford’s £40m star Ismaila Sarr this summer, with the winger set to leave the Hornets following their relegation.

But according to Football Insider, Newcastle are not prioritising a move for Sarr, and are keen to consider other targets.

Sarr has also reportedly attracted interest from Crystal Palace and Everton, and those clubs now have a clearer pathways.

Howe is likely to move for a winger this summer, but it seems it won’t be Sarr, or at least not for now.
