Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben believes the 0-0 draw at Brighton and Hove Albion was a ‘decent away point’.

The Magpies settled for a draw at the Amex Stadium with goalkeeper Nick Pope emerging as the man of the match.

Pope made three standout saves to deny Leandro Trossard, Solly March and Adam Lallana to claim his first clean as a Newcastle goalkeeper following his £10million summer move from Burnley.

Newcastle, although had a few promising counter-attacks, failed to really test Roberto Sanchez in the Seagulls goal, although there was a contentious moment when Callum Wilson had a goal ruled out 14 minutes in for a high boot.

Nevertheless, Howe is pleased with a point - and so too is Reuben, who reacted the result on Twitter.

“Decent Away point against a v good side,” he tweeted. “Thank you to all the @NUFC supporters for making the very long trip down south. Onwards and upwards. Also- Nick Pope @Popey1992.”
