Newcastle United co-owner sends 10-word message to Bruno Guimaraes after Borussia Dortmund defeat
Mehrdad Ghodoussi says it just wasn’t Newcastle United’s night as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
The Magpies’ loss against Dortmund has blown Group F, aka the ‘group of death’ wide open with the visitors moving level on points with Eddie Howe’s side (4) as Paris Saint-Germain lead the way (6). AC Milan are bottom (2).

Hide AdFelix Nmecha’s goal on the brink of half-time was ultimately the difference at St James’ Park but Newcastle co-owner Ghodoussi, watching on from the directors’ box, believes a lot went against his club.
Indeed, United lost club-record signing Alexander Isak just 14 minutes in after the Swede suffered a recurrence of the groin issue that ruled him out of international duty a fortnight ago.
Then, in the second half, Jacob Murphy withdrew less than five minutes after coming on as a substitute with a suspected dislocated shoulder.
Newcastle had chances to net an equaliser in the closing stages but watched as Callum Wilson and Anthony Gordon were denied by the crossbar.

Newcastle are back in Premier League action on Saturday night as they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux. A Carabao Cup fixture at Manchester United and a league meeting with Arsenal follow before the reverse match in Dortmund.
