Newcastle United co-owner shares heartfelt Amanda Staveley wish ahead of Tottenham clash

Mehrdad Ghodoussi has shared a heartfelt message on his fellow Newcastle United co-owner- and wife- Amanda Staveley’s birthday.

The pair have been at the helm of United ever since the club’s takeover in 2021. Staveley was central to securing the £300m deal which saw the businesswomen rewarded with a 10% stake in the club. Earlier this year, it was revealed this had been diluted to 6%.

“Happy Birthday to this beautiful lady, who constantly pushes the boundaries and works tirelessly. We love you,” wrote Ghodoussi.

“PS nothing puts a smile on her face more than a home win.”

Eddie Howe’s side will take on Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday (12:30pm kick-off) where they’ll be looking to build on their 1-0 win over Fulham last weekend.

A win could see the Toon climb to sixth in the Premier League.

Spurs beat United 4-1 in December, but it’s hard to forget the Magpies’ incredible 6-1 win over the North London side in the same fixture last season- which saw them go 5-0 up in 20 minutes.

The co-owners are always publicly vocal in their support for United. After the Fulham win, Staveley wrote on Instagram: “An amazing game! Thank you to all our fans who came to support us at Craven Cottage today. So proud of our team, as always 🖤🤍 #howaythelads” Meanwhile, Ghodoussi shared a video of the sold out away end with the caption “the best”.
