Newcastle United co-owner shows his class with 34-word message after Ipswich Town win
Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben has sent a classy message to Ipswich Town following their relegation from the Premier League.
The writing had been on the wall for some time but it was Newcastle who put the final nail in Ipswich’s coffin with a 3-0 win at St James’ Park on Saturday. Alexander Isak’s penalty on the brink of half-time broke the deadlock before headed goals from Dan Burn and Will Osula in the second-half.

Huge mutual respect between Newcastle United and Ipswich Town
There is strong mutual respect between Newcastle and Ipswich through former boss Sir Bobby Robson. Although the football great is fondly remembered for his five years on Tyneside, it was at Ipswich where he spent most of his managerial career, winning both the UEFA Cup and FA Cup.
Robson has a statue outside both St James’ Park and Portman Road, and his name is always sang loudly when the two clubs meet. Saturday was no exception.
"I have so much respect for Sir Bobby and everything he did for both football clubs,” Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said after the game. “”I think it is a great thing that people came together and celebrated him as a person, forget the rivalry of the game.

In a video doing the rounds on social media after the game, Newcastle fans were captured applauding Ipswich fans out of St James’ Park, with some even sharing hands and sharing a hug in a nice moment. And it seems the respect between the two supporters exists at boardroom level too, with Reuben sending a classy message to Ipswich.
