Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo has reacted to the latest contract news coming out of Newcastle United.

Newcastle United have handed a professional contract to 17-year-old Trevan Sanusi.

Sanusi reportedly attracted interest from the likes of LiverpoolManchester UnitedTottenham Hotspur and Manchester City before joining Newcastle from Birmingham City last year.

“It’s overwhelming and a dream come true to sign my first professional contract as I’ve been working for it for my whole life. I’m really excited to keep pushing on and prove to everyone who gave me that contract.

“I stayed humble and didn’t expect it. I kept working hard until I got the contract, which I have now, but I’ll keep on working and won’t be stopping.

“I see a very good pathway in the Academy and trying to make it into the first-team. I back myself to play as well as possible and try to do that, following in the footsteps of those who have done so this season.

“I’d say my best memories this season would be scoring my first goal for the under-21s as well as playing in the UEFA Youth League, winning away at Paris Saint-Germain."

The winger has quickly broken into the Magpies’ under-21s set up and represented England at under-17s level. Also reacting to his new contract on Instagram, Sanusi said: “Professional contract, we keep working.”

And among those to reply was Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who said: “Congratulations bro.” Adarabioyo and Sanusi are represented by WNRS Sports and regularly interact on social media.

But Adarabioyo’s response has unsurprisingly caught the attention of Newcastle fans. Eddie Howe’s side are favourites to sign the 26-year-old as he runs down his contract at Craven Cottage, although there have been suggestions Manchester United have joined the race.
