Newcastle United’s first pre-season friendly ahead of the 2023-24 season has been confirmed.

Newcastle United will kick-off their preparations for the 2023-24 Premier League season against non-league neighbours Gateshead next month.

Eddie Howe’s side make the short visit to the International Stadium on Saturday, July 15 (kick-off 12:30pm) - with tickets going on sale via The Heed’s website at 10:30am today. There is a limit of four tickets in each category per order.

After taking on Gateshead, who are managed by former Magpies defender Mike Williamson, Howe’s men face Rangers at Ibrox Stadium on Tuesday, July 18 before flying out to the USA for the inaugural Premier League Summer Series.

United face Aston Villa in Philadelphia before Darren Eales and Miguel Almiron return to Atlanta to take on Chelsea. The trip is rounded off in New Jersey against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Once back on Tyneside, NewcastleWorld understands Howe’s side are likely to play on back-to-back days, similar to the double-header against Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao last year.

At 9am on Thursday, June 15, the fixtures for the 2023-24 Premier League will be officially revealed.
