Newcastle United have confirmed the cost of season tickets for upcoming campaign and the introduction of a new opt-in system for games in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Champions League.

The Magpies have confirmed there will be a ‘blended average’ increase of 3.3%, with season ticket prices for juniors frozen and other categories rising by 5%. One of the significant issues experienced by supporters last season surrounded cup tickets and United have confirmed the introduction of a new system that allows season ticket holders to ‘opt in’ to automatic purchases of tickets for home ties in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. There will also be an opportunity to opt into a third package for home games in the Magpies Champions League campaign, with a ‘three-match package’ for group stage fixtures subjected to a special season ticket holder rate.

Chief executive officer Darren Eales revealed there will be a further investment into facilities around St James Park in preparation for the new season and described engaging with supporters as ‘hugely important’ for the club.

He told the club website: “St James’ Park is an amazing place to watch football, and we look forward to welcoming our incredible supporters back for our upcoming Premier League, domestic cup and Champions League campaigns.

“During the summer, we are continuing to invest in our facilities as we look to enhance the matchday experience for everyone, and we look forward to seeing our new licensed standing area in operation next season along with a new mobile ticketing system. I would like to thank everyone who took part in our recent ticketing survey and workshop. Fan engagement is hugely important to us and it will continue to inform our decisions as we build sustainable success together.”

Existing season-ticket holders can renew their season tickets from 10am on Monday, June 19 at book.nufc.co.uk.
