Eddie Howe has named four changes to his Newcastle United starting XI for the Premier League final day clash at Chelsea (kick-off 4:30pm).

Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka makes his league appearance in 12 months in place of Nick Pope, who underwent hand surgery on Monday.

There’s one change to the backline as Matt Targett comes in for Dan Burn at left-back. In midfield, Anthony Gordon replaces Sean Longstaff, who is absent from the matchday squad.

In attack, Allan Saint-Maximin replaces Callum Wilson as Alexander Isak moves back into the central striker role.

Howe hinted at changes during Friday’s press conference.

"We have a few issues,” the Magpies head coach said. “I think the end of the season has come at a good time for us.

“Players like Joelinton will miss the game, for example. [Javier] Manquillo will miss the game, and then we’ve got the others who have been injured going into the Leicester game.

“We’re stretched, but it will give us a chance to have a look at, maybe, one or two other things."

Also ruled out are Emil Krafth, Joe Willock, Jamaal Lascelles, Matt Ritchie and Ryan Fraser.
