Eddie Howe has named one change to his Newcastle United starting XI for this evening's Premier League clash away to Nottingham Forest (kick-off 5:30pm).
And it's not the change most expected with Anthony Gordon retaining his place in the line-up despite withdrawing at half-time in last weekend's 4-4 draw against Luton Town.
Instead, it is Jacob Murphy that drops out with Callum Wilson recalled to the lead the line.
Gordon was a major doubt for the trip to the City Ground after leaving St James' Park last weekend on crutches and wearing a protective boot.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said: “He hasn’t trained this week. We don’t think the injury is serious. We’re hopeful he’ll be back sooner rather than later."
When asked when Gordon would return to training, Howe replied: "Not at this moment, slightly unclear."
Just over 24 hours later and Gordon is back with the squad in the starting XI. Club captain Jamaal Lascelles also returns from a calf issue after missing the last three matches.
