Newcastle United confirmed starting XI v West Ham: £32m man returns & Kieran Trippier 'confusion'

Newcastle United's starting XI against West Ham United features one change from the FA Cup exit to Manchester City.

The Magpies last played a fortnight ago and in that time confirmed Sven Botman would be ruled out for six to nine months with an ACL injury. His replacement in the starting XI is Tino Livramento, who has recovered from an ankle knock.

Eddie Howe has reverted back to a defensive four of Livramento, Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar and Dan Burn. Martin Dubravka starts, despite withdrawing from the Slovakia squad earlier this week for personal reasons.

With Lewis Miley ruled out for the foreseeable future with a back injury, Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock continue as the midfield three. Meanwhile, Alexander Isak leads the line with Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy either side.

Harvey Barnes is on the bench after missing matches against Chelsea and Man City because of a hamstring injury. Kieran Trippier remains absent, despite arriving at St James' Park via the players' entrance.

Newcastle United XI: Dubravka, Livramento, Lascelles, Schar, Burn, Longstaff, Guimaraes, Longstaff, Willock, Murphy, Gordon, Isak. SUBS: Karius, Dummett, Ritchie, Barnes, Krafth, Hall, Almiron, Anderson, White.
