Eddie Howe has named wholesale changes to his Newcastle United starting XI for the FA Cup third round clash against Bromley.
The Magpies come into the game searching for an eighth successive victory, however Howe has used the opportunity against League Two opposition to rest key players with Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento, Dan Burn and Bruno Guimaraes.
Only Martin Dubravka and Joelinton retain their place for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg win over Arsenal on Tuesday. The likes of Fabian Schar, Kieran Trippier, Harvey Barnes, Will Osula, Lloyd Kelly and Sean Longstaff come in.
"That is the balance that we face this weekend,” Howe during his pre-match press conference. “We knew going into the Arsenal game the lads that had played the majority of the minutes were in a good place mentally but physically they were a little bit tired.
“We always had this game on the horizon in a short space of time and knew we would have to rotate our squad but we've got very good players that are desperate to play and desperate to show their qualities.
“It's a good game for them to showcase those qualities but also we have to get through, that is our aim, so we have to pick a strong enough squad."
