Newcastle United dealt £153m injury concern as eight players ruled out v Luton Town - early team news

Luton Town v Newcastle United team news: 11 players expected to miss out as six others doubtful.

Newcastle United visit Kenilworth Road for the first time in 29 years as Eddie Howe's side look to claim back-to-back Premier League wins.

The Magpies beat Fulham 3-0 at St James' Park last Saturday but suffered their second cup exit in six days after losing 4-2 to Chelsea on penalties in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Despite their recent League Cup and Champions League disappointment, United remain in a positive position in the league table as they look to chase down the top four. As it stands, Newcastle sit sixth, five points below fourth-place Manchester City.

Howe's men boast the joint-best home record in the division, but it is their away form that has let them down so far with only Luton and Sheffield United claiming fewer points on their travels.

Indeed, a win against the Hatters would be only United's second away win this term after the record-breaking 8-0 win at Sheffield United in September.

The two clubs last met at Kenilworth Road in 1994 in the FA Cup with the home side running out as 2-0 winners. But this will be the first time the pair have met in the Premier League.

Here, NewcastleWorld takes a look at the early team teams from both camps, including the players ruled out and those that are doubtful:
