Newcastle United are now around a week away from getting back to action amid the ongoing international break.

The Magpies have enjoyed a solid start to the season, but they have quickly become the Premier League’s draw specialists, drawing all but two of their games so far.

Eddie Howe’s men need to turn those draws into wins if they want to compete in the top half of the table.

A trip to the capital to face Fulham awaits Newcastle nex week, and that would be a good place to start as the Magpies look to increase the total in that win column.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding St James’ Park.

Fresh Joao Pedro links

Newcastle are said to be ‘internally discussing’ the possibility of signing Watford forward Joao Pedro in the January transfer window.

The Magpies were linked with the Hornets star during the summer window, but they did not end up pulling off a deal.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle are having conversations about potentially landing the £35million-valued forward in the winter.

Newcastle appear to need a little more in attack, and it will be interesting to see whether they make a move for Joao Pedro.

Botman concern

Sven Botman will be feeling ‘concerned’ about his postition after falling down the pecking order of late.

That’s according to Pete O’Rourke, who told GiveMeSport: “I’m sure he’ll be slightly concerned. No player doesn’t want to be playing games.

“Obviously he came with a big reputation when Newcastle signed him in the summer.

“They beat a number of top clubs to his signature. So he will obviously not be happy that he’s not playing in Eddie Howe’s team right now as well.”

Botman will need to win back his place from Dan Burn or Fabian Schar.
