Newcastle United & England given Kieran Trippier injury scare after Spurs withdrawal

Kieran Trippier has given Newcastle United and England an injury scare.
Trippier is in Australia with the Magpies and started their exhibition match against Tottenham Hotspur at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Wednesday. The 33-year-old, however, lasted just 37 minutes after being replaced by Jacob Murphy.

The former Atletico Madrid star is due to link up with England when he returns from Down Under after being named in Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man squad for Euro 2024.
The Three Lions face Bosnia and Herzegovina at St James’ Park on Monday, June 3 before facing Iceland at Wembley. Southgate’s men then travel to Germany to kick-off their Euro campaign against Serbia.
Trippier - if fit - is in line to start the tournament at left-back with doubts over Luke Shaw’s fintess.
