Newcastle United ‘enter race’ for Serie A striker as verdict given on Chelsea raid

Leao links

Newcastle are said to be in the running to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao this summer.

Leao is only 22 years of age and is being tipped for a big future, contributing to 20 goals this season between goals and assists.

According to La Repubblica, Newcastle are one of the frontrunners to snap him up, alongside Ligue 1 giants PSG.

Lukaku move ruled out

There have been some surprise links between the Magpies and Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku over recent days.

Lukaku has struggled to kick on after returning to Chelsea following an impressive spell with Inter Milan and spells with Everton and Manchester United.

But the Evening Standard have since said that Lukaku has no immediate plans to return to Italy, nor does he intend to join Newcastle this summer.
