Newcastle United are preparing for their final Premier League game of the season.

The Magpies produced a superb performance during the week to see off Arsenal, with Bruno Guimaraes on target to disrupt the top four race.

Eddie Howe’s men are now on course to finish right around mid-table, and they can finish on a relatively comfortable 49 points should they defeat Burnley on Sunday.

The Clarets are likely to have plenty to play for, in the thick of a relegation battle, but Newcastle rightly showed no regard for Arsenal’s objectives midweek, and they will be looking to do the same this weekend.

But as the build-up to the Burnley clash continues, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours.

Sangare battle

Newcastle are said to be among a cluster of Premier League teams chasing a deal for PSV star Ibrahim Sangare.

Sangare is attracting plenty of interest this summer, and the Magpies, along with Chelsea and Leicester City, are said to be in the mix to sign him.

That’s according to The Sun, who claim the 24-year-old midfielder could go for as much as £34million if he does move ahead of next season.

Sangare is a defensive midfielder by trade, and he has made as many as 49 appearances across all competitions this season.

He is tied down to a contract until 2025, as things stand.

Henderson deal almost done

Newcastle are said to be close to snapping up Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Henderson has struggled for games this season at Old Trafford, with David De Gea winning back the starting spot full-time.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Magpies’ deal for the England goalkeeper is ‘90% done’.

It has been reported for some time that Howe wants reinforcements between the sticks, and he may now have his man.

The talks have reportedly been over a loan deal, but a permanent deal is not off the table.
