Newcastle United expected 25-man squad after transfer deadline - and the photos that prove their worth

Newcastle United are set to confirm their 25-man Premier League squad following the closure of the summer transfer window.

The Magpies spent close to £120million on four new signings after splashing a club record £58million on Alexander Isak.

United also landed their No.1 defensive target after months of trying with Sven Botman arriving from Lille.

Nick Pope was brought to the club as Newcastle’s first choice goalkeeper, while Matt Targett completed a permanent switch from Aston Villa.

There was also a number of outgoings, with the long-serving Isaac Hayden, Ciaran Clark, Freddie Woodman, Dwight Gayle and Martin Dubravka among those to depart.

In little under 12 months, Newcastle’s squad already looks very different after a significant amount of investment by the owners.
