Newcastle United return to home comforts against Crystal Palace this afternoon after three consecutive away games.
The Magpies return to St James’ Park just days after suffering a heartbreaking last-gasp defeat at Liverpool on Wednesday night.

United took the lead through club-record signing Alexander Isak on his debut but a goal from Roberto Firmino and Fabio Carvalho’s 98th-minute flipped the game on its head.
Eddie Howe’s side will look to bounce back from that disappointment immediately by maintaining their impressive home form.
“We’re delighted to be back in front of our own supporters,” Howe said during his pre-match press conference.

“The away games do test you in different ways and with three in quick succession, physically the players have done very well.
“ Our physical performance against Liverpool was excellent and it needed to be to be competitive in the game.
“The big challenge for us is we need to get back to that level two days later, which is a challenge but one that we’ve done before.

“That’s going to be crucial in this game.”
Isak picked up a dead leg during the defeat on Merseyside but should be OK to feature. Meanwhile, Bruno Guimaraes and Allan Saint-Maximin are close to a return, but time will time if that is in time for Palace.
