Newcastle United expected starting XI vs Ipswich Town as Joelinton replacement named

Eddie Howe will be forced into at least one change to his Newcastle United starting XI for this afternoon’s visit to Ipswich Town.

An unchanged line-up has earned back-to-back wins over Leicester City and Brentford but Joelinton’s one-match suspension means he’ll miss the visit to Portman Road. Howe will now decide who joins Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali in midfield out of Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff and Lewis Miley.

United could move into the top half of the Premier League table with a victory. Meanwhile, Ipswich sit 18th and without a home win this campaign.

"There's a very good feeling around the team at the moment,” said Howe. “I think we've performed very well and I'd like to think we are building some momentum.

“We know it will be a difficult game at Portman Road against Ipswich, a really competitive team and Kieran's done an unbelievable job there. Even the games they've lost this season, they've been in those games so we're going to have to be hyper-alert.”

Here’s how Newcastle United are expected to line-up:
