And according to Diario AS, Newcastle want to pull off a deal for the forward amid reported interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
The latest reports suggest Asensio could be sold for a cut-price fee this summer, while further reports have claimed he is willing to accept a reduced wage to secure a move this summer.
Callum Hudson-Odoi interest
The Magpies are set to turn their attention to Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi after coming up short with an offer for another Premier League star.

Hide AdAccording to The Sun, Newcastle could not convince Everton to let them sign Anthony Gordon, and they are unlikely to up their original offer.
Instead, it’s claimed they will attempt to sign Chelsea winger Hudson-Odoi.
Newcastle are said to have offered £35million for Gordon, and it seems they will offer a similar amount for Hudson-Odoi.
It will be interesting to see how Chelsea respond, with the Blues planning to strengthen themselves this summer.

Newcastle have been linked with a move for Reims forward Hugo Ekitike throughout this summer.
The Magpies were said to be closing in on a deal after agreeing a deal worth around £40million with the French club.
But they decided to back out after the player’s agents reportedly dragged their heels during the negotiations over personal terms.
According to L’Equipe via Inside Futbol, Paris Saint-Germain are now pushing for a deal, already holding talks with Reims.
PSG are said to be leading Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the race.
