St James’ Park is going to be electrifying on Sunday.

On Sunday Newcastle United take on Arsenal in one of their biggest clashes of the season.

The same matchup last year created an atmosphere like none other, strengthening United to beat this year’s title contenders 2-0.

And so fans are prepared to do it all over again and lift the Mags to another home victory.

Newcastle United fan group Wor Flags are encouraging everyone to #BringYourScarf after the same campaign created an amazing response throughout St James’ Park for the Carabao Cup games against Leicester City and Southampton.

This time, however, there’s a slight snag.

Winter has been replaced and the Toon is now enjoying milder weather, and this weekend is set to be the warmest of the year so far.

On Sunday it’s set to be a whopping 16 degrees and so Wor Flags have jokingly made a slight amendment to their #BringYourScarf campaign.

The fans tweeted ‘#ShortsAndScaves anyone?’ in an attempt to offset the cosiness of everyone’s woolly Toon scarves.

Whatever the attire, United fans won’t be wearing them but waving them madly in the air.

As Wor Flags said: ‘Can’t wait for this to be full, with you all twirling your black and white scarves on Sunday.’
