Trippier's injury was the only negative to emerge but the player himself is upbeat. Speaking at the North East Football Writers Awards Dinner on Sunday evening, the 33-year-old said: "I just felt something in my calf and I don't want to take any risks or anything.
"I had a good chat with the manager but I won't know anything until [Monday]. My calf is feeling good but you know scan results can say anything, but most importantly I'm feeling positive."

Four points separate both Newcastle (8th) and Chelsea (11th) in the top-flight table as they look to finish in the European qualification places come May.
United's last trip to Stamford Bridge ended in penalty shootout heartbreak as Mauricio Pochettino's men advanced into the semi finals of the Carabao Cup. Indeed, it was Trippier's last minute error that led to Mykhailo Mudryk equalising after Newcastle led through Callum Wilson.
