Newcastle United are back on track and well on their way to reaching guaranteed safey in the Premier League.

A narrow 1-0 win over Wolves on Friday night put the Magpies 10 points clear of the drop zone with seven games left, albeit they have played one game more than Burnley in the final relegation spot.

Eddie Howe’s men are now looking a solid bet to beat the drop, and they can begin planning for the summer, when the club is likely to invest significantly.

Thomas Strakosha advantage

Taiwo Awoniyi wait

Union Berlin frontman Taiwo Awoniyi is said to be on the radar of Newcastle ahead of this summer.

But the former Liverpool youngster has not decided on his future just yet, according to a report from Soccernet.

It’s claimed the Magpies, as well as West Ham and Southampton have submitted proposals ahead of a £25million deal, but the striker is taking his time over a decision.
