Newcastle United are gearing up for a difficult clash against Chelsea this weekend, as they continue to strive for safety.

The Magpies are now 10 points clear of the drop zone, albeit having played a game more than a number of their rivals, and they are well on their way to safety.

Simon boost

Newcastle are said to have overtaken rivals Leeds United in the race to sign Nantes winger Moses Simon.

But! Football Club are reporting that the Magpies have started dialogue with Simon ahead of a possible transfer this summer.

The 26-year-old is under contract until 2024, and it’s reported it will take around £16million to get the deal done.

Marc Casado

Barcelona youngster Marc Casado is the latest player to be linked with a move to St James’ Park.

Casado is an 18-year-old central midfielder, who is yet to break through to the first team at Camp Nou.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Newcastle, along with Crystal Palace, are considering a move ahead of this summer.
