And reports have intensified after a Lyon chief revealed the French club had received two offers for the player.
Whether Newcastle are one of the clubs to have sent an offer remains to be seen, but it’s being claimed Arsenal are interested.
“It will be a situation to be monitored until the end of the transfer market because Paqueta would love to play in the Premier League,” Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside.

“Lyon often end up selling their star players, but Paqueta won’t come cheap – his club would like at least €60-65m plus add-ons for the Brazilian.”
Striker chase
The Magpies are said to be turning their attention to a new striker.
Amid a number of signings, Newcastle are now nearing the end of their business, with Howe now needing to fine-tine.

“New striker on the list for sure. Impressive recruitment since Janaury. Be patient.”
The Magpies have been linked with the likes of Armando Broja and Hugo Ekitike.
