Bruno Guimaraes has arrived at Selhurst Park ahead of Newcastle United’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace (kick-off 5:30pm).

The Brazilian midfielder was expected to miss the game in South London after he rolled his ankle during last Sunday’s late 1-0 victory over Fulham at St James’ Park.

Magpies head coach Eddie Howe revealed the 24-year-old’s scan results had come back positive but seemingly played down Guimaraes featuring at Palace.

“He’s OK,” Howe said. “He was devastated to come off the pitch and probably thought at the time he had serious damage to his ankle.

“Hopefully the scan did come back with positive news. I say hopefully because until the player’s back, you never quite know. Hopefully it’s not a long-term injury.”

However, Guimaraes is set to start against Patrick Vieira’s side having travelled with his teammates to the capital.
