Newcastle United continue to edge their way towards Premier League safety ahead of what is expected to be a busy transfer window.

The Magpies have put together an improved run of form of late, and they continued it with a very respectable draw with top-four hopefuls West Ham over the weekend.

Joe Willock’s goal secured the point that keeps Eddie Howe’s men three points above the drop zone.

In the meantime, Newcastle continue to be linked with a number of transfers ahead of the summer.

Survival is crucial for those deals, but as the Magpies continue their battles on the field, we have rounded up the latest rumours.

Price tag blow

Newcastle United are said to be scouting Rennes star Jeremy Doku, but the winger’s price tag may just put them off.

It’s well known that the Magpies will have cash to burn this summer, pending survival, but Doku is being priced at £66million, according to Jeunes Footeux.

The 19-year-old is being looked at by a number of clubs across Europe, and Newcastle are said to be one of them.

But it seems Rennes are not willing to let their talent go for anything close to cheap, even with his injury issues this season.

Nunes price sky-rockets

Sky-rocketing price tags are something Newcastle might have to get used to, with other clubs knowing how much is in their proverbial purse.

Another player to have been linked with the Magpies is Sporting CP talent Matheus Nunes.

Everton have also been linked with the midfielder, but according to A Bola via SportWitness, Sporting are likely to demand more than €40million (£33m) this summer.

Nunes has a release clause of around €40million, and it seems Sporting are well aware of the talent they have in the 23-year-old.
