Newcastle United are picking up the pieces following their heartbreaking Premier League defeat to Everton.

The Magpies conceded nine minutes into injury time against the relegation-threatened Toffees, missing a huge chance to all-but rubberstamp survival.

Newcastle are being linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby.

Diaby has been a sensation this season, still only 22 years of age, scoring 16 times and assisting nine times so far this term.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are interested in pulling off a £50million deal, though they may have to battle Arsenal and Manchester United.

Carvalho interest

Another player Newcastle are being linked with is Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho.

Carvalho is said to be among those on the chopping block at Betis, as they look to increase incomings over the summer.

And Fichajes say Newcastle could be interested, along with Arsenal.

Carvalho is a 69-time Portugal international and a talented defensive midfielder.
