We are only two games into the new season, but so far, Newcastle have beaten Nottingham Forest at home and picked up an impressive away point against a tricky Brighton side.

The Magpies will be looking to continue their positive form from here, and in the meantime, Eddie Howe will be continuing his search for new signings.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding St James’ Park:

Hudson-Odoi latest

Newcastle are said to remain interested in a move for Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The winger is set for reduced minutes at Stamford Bridge this season, and it looks as though he will be allowed to leave on loan as a result.

The Northern Echo say Hudson-Odoi is now ‘closing in’ on a loan exit from Chelsea, and the Magpies remain interested in a deal.

The report claims Southampton and Borussia Dortmund have also expressed an interest.

All three clubs are battling for the winger’s signature as the deadline draws closer.

Newcastle are said to have been offered the chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s £45m frontman Mauro Icardi.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who told Caught Offside: “I’ve written about Mauro Icardi being offered to Manchester United, and also Arsenal earlier in the summer, though they preferred to sign Gabriel Jesus.

“I can now reveal that the Argentine also been offered to Newcastle.

“Icardi’s situation is really difficult. PSG want to find a solution soon, but the player does not intend to accept unwanted destinations.

“He has been offered to Man Utd and Newcastle who have not made any kind of proposal for Icardi so far. There are also Galatasaray emissaries who contacted Icardi’s camp this week.”
