Newcastle are reportedly set to compete with Real Madrid and Manchester United for Napoli’s highly-rated striker Victor Osimhen.

The Magpies were linked with an ambitious move for the Nigerian international during the January transfer window but a deal failed to come to fruition.

Osimhen has scored 21 goals in 51 games since joining Napoli from French club Lille in a £67million deal in September 2020.

Italian radio host Luca Cerchione has stated three clubs are ready to move for the 23-year-old striker and ‘in order’ named them as Newcastle, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

A new name has been thrown into the mix as Newcastle looked to strengthen their midfield options this summer.

However, his performances have taken a dip this season and Roma Today have reported Jose Mourinho will allow him to leave for around £20million at the end of the season.

Former Newcastle manager Steve Bruce is said to be keen to take Sean Longstaff to West Brom.

The arrival of Bruno Guimaraes has further limited the first-team opportunities for the Geordie midfielder, who is out of contract this summer.

Everton were linked with a move for his services during the January transfer window and reportedly had a bid rejected by the Magpies.

Football League World have suggested West Brom are monitoring the situation and would be prepared to make a move to sign Longstaff once his contract expires.

Newcastle keen as Spurs look to take £12million hit on Dutch star

Italian outlet Calciomercato are reporting Spurs are willing to allow Dutch international Steven Bergwijn leave for a cut-price fee of around £15million.

The former PSV Eindhoven star joined Spurs for £27million in January 2020 and has endured a mixed time in North London.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for Bergwijn including Serie A giants AC Milan and it is said that Newcastle have also shown an interest in taking the winger to St James Park.
