Newcastle United take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this afternoon afternoon (kick-off 4:30pm) with both teams handed very little recovery time from their Thursday night fixtures.
The Magpies suffered a 3-0 defeat at Everton as their away day struggles continued. In their seven league games on the road this campaign, Eddie Howe's side have won just once - an 8-0 victory at Sheffield United in September.
Meanwhile, despite a flying start to the season, Spurs have endured a major dip in form in recent months with their 2-1 loss at home to West Ham United extending their winless run to five matches.
That said, both sides have been severely impacted by injuries with their current absentees list among the worst in the top-flight. Newcastle were without 12 senior players for the visit to Goodison Park, while Tottenham missed nine players versus the Hammers.
Howe has revealed his hope of welcoming back some players against Spurs, whereas Ange Postecoglou expects to have Pape Sarr available.
It's a big game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Not only are both sides looking to return to winning ways, but just one point separates the two in the Premier League table.
