Newcastle United issue Anthony Gordon, Sven Botman & Dan Burn injury update ahead of Man City clash

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has provided an injury update on Anthony Gordon, Sven Botman and Dan Burn.

Gordon and Botman missed the 3-2 FA Cup fourth round win at Birmingham City on Saturday, while Burn was forced to withdraw during the second-half.

Howe spoke to media ahead of the trip Premier League champions Manchester City - and here’s what he said on injuries.

Anthony Gordon missed Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round win at Birmingham City with a quad injury.

"Anthony [Gordon] should be fine; he has trained this week. It was a thigh problem, but he has responded well to treatment over the weekend.

Sven Botman

Sven Botman was withdrawn with a knee issue in Newcastle’s 2-0 Carabao Cup semi-final second leg win over Arsenal, forcing him to miss the trip to Birmingham three days later.

What Eddie Howe said

“It’s good news on Sven’s [Botman] scan, no long-term issue. Short term still some pain, we think he misses this weekend.”

Dan Burn

Dan Burn started the FA Cup fourth round win at Birmingham City but needed to come off in the 55th minute because of a groin issue.
