Newcastle United 'keen on' Bundesliga duo as Magpies set for battle with Man United and West Ham

All the latest transfer news coming out of Newcastle United's St James' Park

The January transfer window was an uneventful one at St James' Park. Newcastle United did make one signing with the addition of Manchester City youngster Alfie Harrison being confirmed, but Eddie Howe was unable to add to his first-team squad.

However, the speculation hasn't dried up, with Newcastle's summer transfer plans already being discussed. Here's a look at some of the transfer headlines out there at present.

Stuttgart man on Newcastle's 'list'

Newcastle United and Manchester United are considering a summer move for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, according to SportBILD, via Sport Witness. The Premier League pair have reportedly been keeping tabs on his situation in the Bundesliga and while no approach has been made, the forward is said to be on both of their radars.

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be mulling over a summer deal, with reports suggesting he could be available for as little as €20m due to the release clause in his contract. Guirassy has been in hot form for Stuttgart this season and as it stands he scored 17 Bundesliga goals in just 14 outings.

His tally, which includes two hat-tricks, is enough to put him second in the Bundesliga goal scoring charts behind outright leader Harry Kane, who has 24 already.

Magpies eye up Stach

Newcastle are reportedly one of three Premier League clubs monitoring Germany international Anton Stach. SportBild, via Teamtalk, is reporting Hoffenheim have put a £12.8m price tag on Stach's head and that has piqued the interest of Newcastle, Fulham and West Ham United.

The report adds Stach is keen on a switch to the Premier League, which could potentially make a move this summer easy to do. The centre-midfielder only joined Hoffenheim last summer, making the switch from Mainz, but his performances have been enough to make Premier League clubs sit up and take notice, it seems.
