Newcastle United linked with surprise move for ex-Liverpool, Inter Milan and Manchester City star

Newcastle United are interested in signing ex-Liverpool and Manchester City striker, Mario Balotelli, according to Adana Demirspor president, Murat Sancak.

“Newcastle was considering signing Balotelli,” said Sancak in Turkish sports newspaper, Fanatik.

“‘But so far they have not made an official offer.

“There is an exit clause in his contract.

“But I cannot reveal the amount of that clause,” he added.

Balotelli, who was born in Palermo, Sicily in 1990 started his professional career with F.C. Lumezzane in the Lombardy area of Italy before joining Inter Milan where he averaged a goal every three games.

The English Premier League came calling in 2010 when Mario Balotelli joined Manchester City.

Balotelli spent three seasons at the Etihad scoring 20 goals along the way.

In 2013 he signed for AC Milan but returned to the English Premier League in 2014 when he signed a contract with Liveool FC.

Balotelli returned to AC Milan on loan in 2015 and from 2016 until the present day he has had spells at Marseille, Nice, Brescia and Monza.

The Italian international signed for newly promoted Turkish Süper Lig side Adana Demirspor last July.
