Newcastle United’s flying start to the Premier League campaign has already led to talk about potential European qualification. The Magpies last played in Europe a decade ago but their ambitions to return to the big stage have been well-documented.
Having only just fought off relegation last season, perhaps many thought that finishing in the European spots was a little out of reach this campaign. However, after an excellent start, people’s opinions are quickly changing.
After 13 games, Eddie Howe’s men sit fourth in the top-flight table with six wins, six draws and one defeat accumulating to 24 points. If Newcastle maintain that form after the World Cup break, then European qualification will become a reality.
